TECHNOLOGY AND HEALTH CARE

Technology and Health Care is intended to serve as a forum for the presentation of original articles and technical notes, observing rigorous scientific standards. Furthermore, upon invitation, reviews, tutorials, discussion papers and minisymposia are featured. The main focus of THC is related to the overlapping areas of engineering and medicine. The following types of contributions are considered:

SPORTS BIOMECHANICS

Sports Biomechanics is the Thomson Reuters listed scientific journal of the International Society of Biomechanics in Sports (ISBS). The journal sets out to generate knowledge to improve human performance and reduce the incidence of injury, and to communicate this knowledge to scientists, coaches, clinicians, teachers, and participants. The target performance realms include not only the conventional areas of sports and exercise, but also fundamental motor skills and other highly specialized human movements such as dance (both sport and artistic).

REGENERATIVE MEDICINE

Regenerative medicine replaces or regenerates human cells, tissue or organs, to restore or establish normal function*. Since 2006, Regenerative Medicine has been at the forefront of publishing the very best papers and reviews covering the entire regenerative medicine sector. The journal focusses on the entire spectrum of approaches to regenerative medicine, including small molecule drugs, biologics, biomaterials and tissue engineering, and cell and gene therapies – it’s all about regeneration and not a specific platform technology.

JOURNAL OF MEDICAL DEVICES-TRANSACTIONS OF THE ASME

The Journal of Medical Devices presents papers on medical devices that improve diagnostic, interventional and therapeutic treatments focusing on applied research and the development of new medical devices or instrumentation. It provides special coverage of novel devices that allow new surgical strategies, new methods of drug delivery, or possible reductions in the complexity, cost, or adverse results of health care. The Design Innovation category features papers focusing on novel devices, including papers with limited clinical or engineering results.

JOURNAL OF BIOMEDICAL MATERIALS RESEARCH PART B-APPLIED BIOMATERIALS

Journal of Biomedical Materials Research Ð Part B: Applied Biomaterials is a highly interdisciplinary peer-reviewed journal serving the needs of biomaterials professionals who design, develop, produce and apply biomaterials and medical devices. It has the common focus of biomaterials applied to the human body and covers all disciplines where medical devices are used.

JOURNAL OF BIOMECHANICS

The Journal of Biomechanics publishes reports of original and substantial findings using the principles of mechanics to explore biological problems. Analytical, as well as experimental papers may be submitted, and the journal accepts original articles, surveys and perspective articles (usually by Editorial invitation only), book reviews and letters to the Editor. The criteria for acceptance of manuscripts include excellence, novelty, significance, clarity, conciseness and interest to the readership.

JOURNAL OF BIOMATERIALS SCIENCE-POLYMER EDITION

The Journal of Biomaterials Science, Polymer Edition publishes fundamental research on the properties of polymeric biomaterials and the mechanisms of interaction between such biomaterials and living organisms, with special emphasis on the molecular and cellular levels. The scope of the journal includes polymers for drug delivery, tissue engineering, large molecules in living organisms like DNA, proteins and more. As such, the Journal of Biomaterials Science, Polymer Edition combines biomaterials applications in biomedical, pharmaceutical and biological fields.
